Preludes and Fugues

Ciurlionis' pictorial sonatas, preludes and fugues raise an argument - what was the determinant of their uniqueness: painting or music? One must say that they are not a direct projection of music on canvas, rather an optimum harmony of the painters' imagination, musicality and pictoriality of artistic images.
